About K-SISE

Queens-based artist K-SISE is more than a renaissance man, he is a Peabody Award winning musician, an accomplished filmmaker, a humanitarian and an educator.

 

He has performed all over the world, opening for and working with artists such as Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Les Nubians, Andres Levin, Cucu Diamantes, Nina Sky and MOP.

 

In 1999, he partnered with Junclassic to form Dynamix, releasing critically acclaimed Shock and Awe volumes 1 and 2, the album and the mixtape.

 

X Factor, K-SISE’s first solo project, was released in March 2010.  The project boasts features from Sean Price, Junclassic, and Iron Lyon.

 

His second solo project, Rewind + Replay, was released in June 2011. Notable performances include the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, Warped Tour, House of Vans, PS1, Greenhouse, Tammany Hall, Prospect Park, and Public Assembly.

 

In January 2014, K-SISE worked with NBC News and In Plain Sight on a Peabody Award winning episode for dateline NBC, titled “Breathless”.  He composed, wrote, produced and performed “I Can’t Breathe”, a record based on the episode’s theme (Asthma in impoverished communities), as well as scored the episode.

 

He is a teaching artist for NYC youth, and built a studio for Adobe Youth Voices, creating and launching their NYC based advanced music production program. He is also an arts ambassador for Sweet Generation, an online bakery that works to increase  access Arts education for children.
